Vertically Rising

Well looks like the days of Napster may be over. I tried looking for some stuff today and nothing showed up on ALL of my searches. So either Napster just isn’t working anymore, or they’re blocking a whole lotta stuff. Blah, oh well. I found some really good mp3s of worship stuff that Steve Fee and Candi Pearson did in their Big Stuf Band or Exit 10. Sounds really good, EXCELLENT version of the song Hungry. Probably the best I’ve heard of it (sorry to SF, but this beats it out with the harmonies and layering they did, and it’s live, hehe).

Been trying to find this one Charlie Hall song too. Found out it’s called “Beautiful of Heaven”. The song goes:

I really like it, but the song isn’t on any CDs yet, ahh well. I’ll just have to wait for Charlie’s next cd.

Did I ever tell everyone that I met Charlie Hall before? It was at the Worship Together conference out in San Diego a few months ago. Pretty funny, I was just sitting down waiting for the first main session to start, and I was sitting off on the side since we got in kinda late. All the speakers and worship leaders were up on the side pews going up the side of the sanctuary, and Charlie just kinda walked around a lil bit and I waved to him. He waved back and walked over and introduced himself, was pretty funny. =P Also talked with him a little bit after one of his workshop sessions he led on Veils of the Heart.

What else is going on? Not sure what my big trip will be for summer. Maybe NY, maybe FL? who knows, guess only time (well, and money) will tell, lol. Crap, if I wanna go anywhere, I better get tickets soon, prices for Southwest airlines go up May 24th, bleh!

Still sick, and it sucks, but ahh well (that’s what I’ve been saying to everyone today, heh). Oh well, I’ll live, sorta. hehehe. Might go visit Pathway again on Sunday, not sure. They really want me for their worship team, but may still be a couple of months till I move over there. Would be really cool though if I did do stuff there. =) Oh, and emailed some girl named Teena for some alternative worship band in the SF Bay Area today. She left a message on the Worship Together site and asked for musicians. rawk!, hehehe. Hope we can plan something. =)

Hrm, lesse what’s been going on since the last entry that seems like so long ago….

Lisa Lau got her license! But with a whole other lotta stuff that happened to her. Right after she went through all the trouble to get it (some cracked mirror, some brake light that was out, some other stuff, ugh) Anyways, right after she passed her license test, she was driving her brother’s civic and she backed up into another car that was backing up!! It was just a small scratch on the other car, but I heard that they reported it in or something, so there’s prolly some kinda insurance claim, blah. She also got a point on her record now, on her first day of her license!! geez! oh well….

Last Fridays’ service went well. Tiff lead worshp and I was playing bass instead of guitar. Was actually surprised that I was playing bass instead of guitar, but she wanted more of a driving beat. I also surprised myself, cuz I was getting pretty good and inovateive with the bass, what fun! hehe, wish I had a bass for myself now (well I do have Ann Kawauchi’s bass till I fix it). Tiff had a good mix of songs for Friday, and “I Offer My Life to You” was a real good closing response chorus (course I did tell her bout that song…lol, but that’s not the point, hehe).

Saturday AACF had our picnic/bbq (well…guess it was just a picnic, we didn’t cook any food, haha) with SFSU and SJSU together. We just had some sandwiches and cheetos and stuff at the picnic, wasn’t much to eat, but I guess that’s ok, hehe. Thanks to Jenny and Chris and Johnny who planned out the picnic for us. Fun time talking with people, playing the crazy balloon toss throwing game, and hanging out. That’s what fellowship with SFSU is all about. They’re our bro’s and sis’s in our extended fellowship. Great bunches of people.

Hung out over at the girl’s apt/town house all day. First we played DDR for a while, then got some food (20 pieces of McNuggets! rawk!!), then I slept a lil after Anh and Ricky left and while Let did homework. Went out to Red Robins at night and had the BEST watiress named Natelie I think. She hooked us up with so much fries and our freckled lemonades (everyone HAS to try that once in their life) and even got us freckled lemonades in TO GO cups! haw, rawk! =P

Today just went to church, hung out for a lil bit, drove some youth home and bought my mom some salmon for Mother’s Day. I had to get back down to San Jose though early, so I skipped out on my grandmother’s chinese dinner. Oh well. Oh, also found out today that Phong’s dad passed away, so anyone who read’s this and know’s Phong (of if ya just have a compassionate (compassionativity?) heart, please pray for him and his family right now.

Oh yeah, I’m also sick, and it sucks. Been phelmy, and bleh, it sucks. Went through almost a whole thing of Toilet Paper used as tissue in just a few hours, i hate it! bleh!! always sick around finals, heh. Pray for me bout that too! =P

Hrm, still don’t know exactly what I’m playing tonite for worship. Ahh well. Guess I’ll just bring the Taylor along (probably what I’m playing). No other real cool updates or anything, pretty boring uneventful day, hehe.

Eeeek, went through 3 straight hours of gaming. Played from about 9pm till 12 midnight tonite of RA3. First my my computer hasn’t crashed in an extended gaming session in awhile, and man, did it feel good! =P Had about 155 frags, and 220 some odd damage scoring in 183 minutes. Not bad =) hehehehe. Couldn’t keep my 1 frag: 1 minute ratio though…ahh well.

Well let’s see, what’s going on today….Not much really, lol. Anh’s going up to Berkeley later tonite. We dont’ know why, there’s no AACF large group, guess he’s just visiting people *cough* weird. =P. Anyways, what else is going on….Lisa is taking her driving test today…Not sure at what time, but think she may have already taken it. Haven’t gotten a call or IM from her yet, so dunno if she passed, but I hope she did. Tiffany never called me yesterday to tell me what I’m playing for wroship on friday (either bass or guitar..) weird, ahh well. Mmmm Mac & Cheese is good, hehehe. Ok, later guys.

Well tonite we had our last meeting for AACF @ SJSU. It was a semi-informal meeting and Ice Cream social over at one of our Staffers for AACF, Derek Miyahara’s house. He lives out in Campbell. Before the meeting we all met over at Joe West (the big tall dorm here at SJSU), and headed out. A few of us got really hungry, and left to get some Jack in the Crack and headed back. Mmmmm, bacon double cheeseburger yet again…good stuff. =P We had a quaint core/leadership meeting with Alison and Anh, who are the new Core leaders for next year (and also make up the AA, of AACF, lol). Basically going over small things for next year, and the new application process for leadership. Good stuff. We ate some ice cream, hung out, then at the end, us Bro’s did our lil Sis Appreciation to the AACF girls and gave out lil presents, but before that we sang “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” to them, hah. Just like ol’ times eh?

Mmmmmm, I love Jack in the Box…I ordered a number 4 the other day….meat upon meat…was just their Double Bacon Cheeseburger or something. I should try their triple….though it can’t compare to In & Outs 4×4!!! Hehehehe, I love that thing…I get it every time I go to In & Out now….if you haven’t tried it, GO TRY IT!! 4 stacks of meat, 4 stacks of cheese, mmmm.

Wow, nice product they have (avalon). Unfortunately they don’t have one in stock (not that I would buy one right now), but it certainly was nice. It riches the tones of the higher strings, but also the low strings, and everywhere…dunno really how to describe it, but I like it. Hopefully maybe I’ll get one this summer. =)
