Winter Camp is in a few days. I still don’t remember our speakers name for it. Pastor Sandra, myself, Lisa, and Reese are driving. John-David and I are doing worship, and I’ll be bringing up my Chet Atkins, whooo. I’ll have a lil fun with that, and doing backup singing, though I’m not that great at harmonies, I’ll have to figure something out. I’m not quite sure what range JD is, but we’ll see.
The CD is getting delayed and such. I haven’t done all the guitar tracks that I’ve want to do (they were supposed to be done on the 9th) and the vocals are supposed to be all done by the 25th, but don’t think that’s gonna happen. Hopefully if I push everything back, some things won’t take as long as we can still produce it by the 2nd week of April. No promises though…heh. I may be able to go to Spirit West Coast this year for FREE. I’ll have to work in a vendor booth (for Berean of course) but I would get free stay, and food, and get to see all the concerts (well when I’m not working). I guess I’ll have to wait and see if I’m working around then, and if there are some good bands/musicians there this year. =) current mood: worried |

Two More Songs Done!
Well I finished up two songs tonight. Well…then again, “finished” is a term used lightly. As the bass, electric, drums, etc, parts aren’t done on it yet (as well as the vocals too, doh). The two songs I did tonight were “We Are Hungry” and “Pour Out My Heart.”
Now the neat thing about these two songs are this, I decided to extend them a lil, by doing something for each song. For “We Are Hungry” I had a whole section in the middle for kinda whatever I wanted to sing. May it be for the Chorus1, a few times more, or the Chorus2 (We lift our holy hands up, we want to see You). Then as I was re-listening to it, and tweaking the end, I found that it was the same chords as “Make a Joyful Noise/I Will Not Be Silent” by David Crowder, and I decided to put that in there towards the end, then end with Chorus2. So yes, to make a long story short, I through in the Chorus of “Make a Joyful Noise” into it, for fun, and cuz it fits just really well. Now for the other song, I noticed it was in a 6/8 beat/measure. Meaning that there’s 6 beats per measure. It’s kind of a swaying thing going on. Anyways, the song has a part that goes “In the safety of this place” with the chords being Am7, G, C. Well it’s the same chords of the one part in “All Who Are Thirsty” where it goes “As deep cries out to deep”, so I kept going on the “In the safety of this place” a gazillion (yes a gazillion..try to figure out how many that is! hah!) times, and then started singing “As deep cries out to deep, as deep cries out to deep, as deep cries out to deep, we sing Come Lord Jesus, Come” ala the chorus of “All Who Are Thirsty”. I played through the rest of that song as well, but I’m not sure if I’ll keep all of that, may just leave part of it (the part of the first time through the chorus). Yes, so those are my recording woes. It probably took about…an hour and a half (1:30 minutes) to finish all that, as well as work on some editing and double guitar parts on some tracks. But it sounds good…though the beat went off a lil on “Pour Out My Heart/All Who Are Thirsty”. Well until next time, this is Randy, signing off… current mood: accomplished |
Work Work Work
Wow, what a busy day yesterday and today. We’re busy doing returns about the whole story, because of Christmas. Whatever didn’t sell, we’re trying to sell back to the company that we ordered it from (which is kinda neat, thought they would just make us store it till next year, lol). Anyways, since I’m now in the music department, I was busy doing a bunch of Christmas returns. We filled up a WHOLE WHOLE big cart, and it was probably atleast 3000 cds that we’re returning to 8 different companies. The biggest return was Avalon’s Christmas album, “Joy”. We’re returning 441 of those CDs. And I had to peel off every single Berean UPC sticker from them. Luckily, by that time, Sandy (one of the Office Associates) gave me a “Scraper” which has a edge that you can peel things off, or scrap them off. Too bad I didn’t have that earlier when I was doing all the rest of the Christmas CDs and my nail started peeling up, EWWW.
A few new worshp CDs are in the store now, but aren’t that great. I’m wanting to do a few more songs in the next couple of days, probably will be doing “Here I Am to Worship”, as well as “Pour Out My Heart” and ” We Are Hungry”. I need a program that will find out BPM, or Beats per Minute, so if you know of one, let me know, ASAP! Thanks! |
Recording Ways
Well the recording is nicely on it’s way. I did the guitar tracks for “Our Love is Loud” though it’s not one of the original songs I picked, I do really like the song, and may include it with this AACF CD (if it doesn’t go on there, it definately will go on my own cd, hehehe). I figured out the chords a few nights ago when 722 did it in it’s entirety for their Christmas service.
722’s Christmas service was awesome! my goodness. Never heard Christmas carols sound so good!!! really! If you haven’t listened to it yet, browse by www.722.net and click on the Past Messages. Click on the last one for this “season”. I bought a web cam two nights ago. It’s not on a lot, unless I’m on yahoo messenger. I don’t really like yahoo messenger, except that it can use a web cam, so I’m hoping that AOL will get their acts together and make something where you can use a web cam sorta how yahoo has it. Maybe they’ll someday browse upon this page and read about it. =) current mood: accomplished |
The SST is Mine! , HopeRoad.net, and AACF@SJSU CD Release Info!!
!
Hehe, yes the news is, that I bought the Chet Atkins SST model guitar. I bought it actually the week of Thanksgiving, that tuesday before hand I believe. It ends up that it was the same day that I recieved my Taylor last year (It was shipped to my parents house the tuesday before thanksgiving last year).
I’ve been playing with it a lot, and I really like it. It has SUPERB tone, almost bettering the Taylor (course I’ll always love my Taylor, it’s my second baby, hah, guess what (or rather who’s) first ; ) ). Anyways, yes, it’s a very nice guitar, and I’ve used it a few times now for worship already, and I really enjoy using it. Though I better keep switching between the Taylor and the Chet, because when I was playing the Taylor the other night, it felt funny to play such a large bodied guitar, since the Chet is really thin. Met some new friends online recently. I was searching for Chet Atkins SST reviews on the net, and I happened upon a guy’s webpage that bought one for a cd recording he was working on (sounds like me, hah). I continued reading about the cd recording, cuz, pretty much, that’s what I’m doing right now. It ends up that he was doing a worship recording with some friends (hah, sounds like me again). Anyways, I’ve been talking to him (Wei) and his friend and drummer (Victor) for their ‘band’ Hope Road. Now on to the exciting news. I’ve collaborated with myself, and the new release date for our AACF cd, will be Monday, April 1st, 2002. We’re finally heading into the production stage of things soon (within a week or two) and I’ll be recording all the guitar tracks, then we’ll work in the vocals, then bass, electric, drums, and percussion, and also maybe a lil piano, but it may be sparse, haha. I’m a guitar kinda guy. =) So yes, be on the look out of the newest AACF@SJSU CD coming out Spring 2002! current mood: excited |
