For those not familiar, PAX stands for Penny Arcade Expo, a convention of sort for gamers that was started by the website/web comic Penny Arcade. Starting in 2004, it’s grown every year, and even added a PAX East hosted in Boston in the Spring of 2010.

For me, this’ll be my first PAX. I’ll be hanging probably with the ASTRO Gaming crew and a bunch of the Destructoid guys (BTW: As a plug for Destructoid, if you’ve haven’t visited their site yet, you should. They do a great job of bringing in people into a gaming community close to you with NARPS (No Apparent Reason Parties). Going to one this weekend. ). Being that I haven’t been to a PAX before, I’ll probably be like a kid in a candy store, only this “store” has tons of great free play stations with the games that are coming out this Fall and in 2011. I’m probably most excited to see Halo: Reach (Bungie should be in attendance as they’re close to Seattle and Reach will most likely be complete by then), Gears of War 3 (Hoping the bring out Beast Mode!), and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (which looks really bad ass. C’mon, Invisibility AND a mechanical robot-turret?).

Other things I’m looking forward to is hanging out with the community that I’ve been following over twitter (well, if they’ll let me, haha). I’ve been privileged to converse with a bunch of movers and shakers in the SF Bay Area in the gaming industry (most of which are involved with the DToidSF group) and they’re a nice bunch. Let the drinking and partying begin?

So I’m going through and manually cut and pasting 7 years of postings. It’s tedious, but kind of entertaining as I’m passing by some good memories of college life. I’m currently at around March 2002, so that’s only about 8 months into my blogging life and I’m already at 243 posts… yikes.

Check out www.slickdeals.net for the latest deals on things (that’s where I got that printer, as well as my 17 cases of soda for 37$ shipped, hahaha).

Well the teams from Evangel and NorthWest came in over the weekend, mostly on Saturday. Ango actually came home on Friday night (well Saturday morning, at 2am), and the NorthWest people came in Saturday at around 6:20. I got to meet some of them at Pastor Kevin’s house and drive two of them out to Lily Dea’s (who lives in the bottom part of Phil and Nancy Wong’s house).

It’s been a long while since I’ve been out there, and boy, it sure took me a little bit to remember how to get out there. I kept turning on the wrong streets. Well, I finally made it there, and they got settled and stuff, and I drove Pablo back. I forgot my Guitar at PK’s (Pastor Kevin’s) so I made my way back out there, and found out that Evangel’s team had ALL of their luggage delayed till 10:40. I knew that PK and PSlim (Pastor Sanrda Lim, aka Slim, aka PSlim…yeah….) were pretty tired, so I offered to help Cliff pick up the luggage. We went over there and man, it was so frustrating. The lame “Rent-a-Cops” were around, or I guess maybe they’re just traffic control or something, but anyways, Cliff and I were parked there, and IN the car, yet they still told us to go around. So we went around about 3 times, and finally Cliff went into the short-term parking. We went to go look for the other guys who came with us (Greg and Scott) and got the bags and headed back. Now this was the interesting part. Trying to fit 18 people’s bags and sleeping bags into two cars. Cliff was driving the rental van (It’s a Windstar) and I have my accord. LOL. It was pretty funny. Really entertaining really. To see us moving each bag over to a different car, depending on where they lived (Cliff dropped off to 3 houses, since they were close, I just dropped them off at church in the morning). We were so realived when all the bags fit. ahhhh. =P

So anyways, the skits and human videos they did were great today. I hope to see them again on Wednesday, as well as at the park. I’ve seen Cliff do that one called Anchor before, but I forgot where at, but it was actually at our church, and the other person in it was Evelyn! I forgot how good Eve was at drama, wow.

I also had a long meeting with AACF again, planning for our praise night which is coming up March 20th. Lotta work, and a long meeting, but we had King Eggrolls. Yum yum. Ok, I’ve talked enough, this post is probably REALLLLLY long.

All I have to say is, I WAS SECOND!!!! lol. The first person I knew with an online journal was Joe from SFSU’s AACF, unfortunately, I haven’t been checking his entries at all, but you may want to check out http://www.frogslife.net some time, as I’m sure it’s still a great site for reading what’s on Joe’s mind, and he just has so much to talk about all the time!! goodness gracious.

Well, I’m trying to find some old old old school weird Chris Tomlin visiting the campus of Texas A&M along with Exit 10, cuz the harmonies that Candi Pearson did were just awesome! ahhhh. Anyways, just trying to listen to some stuff tonight. Maybe I’ll get inspired to do a certain song on the CD.

Oh yeah, a friend asked me about that MercyMe song “I Can Only Imagine.” It’s a really good song, but I dont’ think I would want to put it on the cd. I dont’ have the voice to do that one, and I wouldn’t want to ruin such a good song. She just suggested that I’d do it for worship sometime though, so I may. =)

Well I found out today through some other Sixsteps Reps that Chris Tomlin did buy a Chet Atkins SST guitar. This story goes back a few months (back in November) when I first bought my Chet Atkins. I was looking up prices on them, after I bought mine, to see how good of a deal I got on mine, and I noticed that someone on ebay bid, and won a Chet Atkins SST with tne ebay username of “christomlin”. I thought, man, maybe it’s really Chris, so I emailed him through ebay, but got no response back. Funny to find that out. Also, a few days after that, I was watching 722 for that week (which reminds me, I haven’t seen this weeks yet) and I saw Steve Fee had a Chet as well, which was new. His was in a natural finish, which I don’t like very much, cuz it looks kinda weird.

I’m picking up some of the crew from Missouri on Saturday night from the Airport I think, even though I haven’t given Pastor Sandra a call back on that. Ahhh, I’ll just email her right now. Ok, think that’s about it. Next week is the big outreach week with Oath, Evangel University Students, as well as some students from North West college. Big week.

I don’t even know what a Leprechaun sounds like, weird. =P

Anyways, I heard that Michelle Kwan got 3rd today. Too bad =( I was really hoping that she’d get the gold. I know that she’s a local gal (from San Jose or something I think). Oh well, 3rd place is still good too I guess (then again, she had a silver before as well). Anyone think if she’ll try for it again in 4? She’ll be 25 by then right? Hrm…maybe a little old, but we’ll see. I’m cheering for you Michelle Kwan! hah (well, and so does Anh, he thinks she’s HOT, lol).

The CD project is coming along. We’ve been doing mostly recording for guitar, and some instrument stuff, and just started doing vocals recently. Tommorrow night we’re supposed to be working on some stuff at around 9:45pm or so, and we’ll see how that all goes. I think I’ll have to record a few more guitar tracks, just so that we have some more material to work with as well.

The David Crowder Band is coming out with their new CD this week. It’s called Can You Hear Us? and it’s great, as I’ve had it for the past month or so (from work). A lot of neat songs on there. I also got to hear the new Passion CD releasing in April from work. MAN oh MAN, it’s good. I’m loving Dance in the River, I even had to go figure out the bass line for it, hehe, and it’s majorly cool. I like pretty much every track on it, though Charlie Hall’s “Sweet Me Away” song is kinda funky, but maybe I’ll grow into it.

The Thirsty Conference by Passion is coming up in April. I’m so wanting to go, but it’s looking expensive. I should put some money aside right now, so that I can pay for it. Or set aside some money each pay check or something. Ahhhhh. I’m hoping that Jeff Fountain (of Choice Resources, and part of Sixstep records) can get in contact of the lady running Thirsty, as I’ll probably be there a day early for 7:22, and will have nothing to do on Wednesday. It would be fun to hang out, and help out, and meet some of the guys on Wednesday. =) Almost like a dream come true, hehe.

Ok, that’s about it, peace outside!

Well it’s been a lil while since I’ve updated. The CD project is coming along. Still doing most of the guitar work for the project, and haven’t gotten around to doing the vocals yet. Still aiming for the April 1st release date, hehe.

We got a drum set in our house now. Nate came down last weekend and dropped it off. All the guys in the house (well Derek, Ricky, and I) have been playing with it, and trying to learn. I went out and got some Hot Rod drum sticks for it, cuz I like them a lot, though they’re getting abused a lil. The drum set will help for the recording, whooo. I don’t have to lug my computer to my church anymore.

I got a new CD this week at Berean. It’s from this group called Relient K, and they’re cool! haha, they’re kinda punk music, but I actually like it. Try to find them on the internet, I haven’t looked for their website yet, but if I do see it, I’ll post it on here. They have one song (track 10, on “The Anatomy of the Tounge and Cheek”) where they sing about Thundercats. Any group that sings about Thundercats or any other of my childhood cartoons is cool (Like Chris Rice’s Cartoons song! whoooo!!!)

Still looking for a Live Journal key for Lisa. My buddy Nick was gonna see if he gave his out already, I guess he did though, since he hasn’t gotten back to me. Oh well.

Stopped by Tim’s house today too. Hung out with him and talked for a little while. They’re in the middle of writing songs for their new cd, and should start production for that either within this semester or come summer time (after Tim buys his guitar probably, hah).
